What Causes Team Accountability Issues
These are common causes we have seen to be typical of this issue. This list is not exhaustive but helps you to understand some of the potential root causes.
When team members don't see how they are accountable to themselves, their team, and the organization as a whole when they are in isolation, personal achievements will trump organizational achievements.
When team members understand performance measures to only be based on personal success and not on organizational success, the shared goals will not be the focus.
Feedback, not Feed-Forward
When employees only receive feedback on what they did wrong and not "feed-forward" on what they can do better, they will be less likely to share and collaborate with others, losing sight of organizational goals.
